It feels like as we get older and rid ourselves of the useless drama, reaching inner peace also means getting closer to the end.

Thank you for your entry! I actually think old farts are the best subsection of the aging population... I call my stepdad an old fart, and also my favourite band (the guys are like 75 years old and still gigging) - in that they're boring and reliable, and so completely trustworthy! I enjoyed the rhymes and near rhymes too.
