Image for the poem Satan

Satan

revolving in the dark
cyanide smiles utter parables
I shutter within myself
to hear such wisdom crookedly spoken
on jagged teeth the words hook then fall
warped of their former truth they hurt

metaphors of doubt assault the mind
insidious of nature, venomous
they hunt looking for the weak of thought

tempered with steel
galvanizing your resolve
I see you, now faint inside yourself
the pace is too fast it just won't last

fall on your face it's not what you've imagined
silky words spoken from dead religions
in the heart of lepers skewed for your pleasure
