I have a strange relationship with dreams. Last night I woke at 4am and thought I saw some kind of burglar jump out the window, I must've still been dreaming. Sleep paralysis, they call it I think? That happens occasionally, I'll wake and see a grasshopper, which I find a grotesque creature lol
When I am only half asleep, I tend to lucid dream, I'll just consciously build scenes that I can see in my mind's eye. When heartbroken, my dreams were a torment. It's an amazing thing, the worlds we glimpse, fraught with haunted, unresolved emotion.
The House of Sleep rings a bell, there was this series on AMC that used that phrasing, I wonder if it was an adaptation of the novel. I'll look for it thank you.
I really like your term, "pillow second". Sounds like millisecond, but much more interesting. A second of dreaming feels like much longer when you're in a dream. I've had some interesting revelations when half asleep and half awake!
Indeed. I had a vision and a message about a child that I lost during one of these times, but it wasn't sad - it was positive and affirming. I wrote about her once.
