Wishing on a Midnight Star
It’s late
Yet here I am wishing
I could whisper, “goodnight”
That the dark cool breezes
Would carry my thoughts to you
Across the trees and seas
Over the mountains
And through the bustling cities
To brush your cheek
With my loving whispers
Do you feel that?
The tingling in your ears
As I breathe your name?
Perhaps a falling star
Caught my wish
Sped it along
Leaving my love as a sparkling
Glisten
In your evening blue eyes
Yet here I am wishing
I could whisper, “goodnight”
That the dark cool breezes
Would carry my thoughts to you
Across the trees and seas
Over the mountains
And through the bustling cities
To brush your cheek
With my loving whispers
Do you feel that?
The tingling in your ears
As I breathe your name?
Perhaps a falling star
Caught my wish
Sped it along
Leaving my love as a sparkling
Glisten
In your evening blue eyes
