Are opening their wallets
Offering higher wages and benefits
This certainly due to the goodness of their heart
And in consideration of the well-being of their employees.
Surely nothing to do with the shortage of manpower
(Or smarter kids refusing to work for starvation wages)..

It's rare to find companies/institutions that will take care of their employees especially during hard times. I do have to say though that the work ethic of many have changed.
