Hunted, Haunted

Boom, boom, the drums they sound!
In the forests, the jungles, and the dark.
The music carries words in the rhythm,
Secret words written with red passion.
Bleeding with sound and fury to hear,
Boom, boom, come close, come near!
In the deep, in the dark of a mound!
Where a buried secret waits; on a lark,
Whispered to me like a black anthem.
My inner demon takes full possession!
I burn my arm with fire hotly to sear,
All to return, to where love was dear!
The mound is in my mind, always!
Created to remind me of alien sands,
That I tried to paint in watercolors.
Long before I even learned to read!
Take me back, take me all the way,
Dark angel mine please let me stay!
I want to hear the sound of waves!
The drum within me so commands.
Like the butterfly my spirit flutters,
As like the flame I feel a hot need!
To burn, and in dark ecstasy blaze,
While we go back to gentler days!

Hunted, haunted, in my sleep!
While memories of old creep,
Upon my sleeping, weeping form.
Leaving me thirsty on the morn!
Oh angel dark, oh angel bright!
When I dream of you I weep,
Remembering my heart forlorn.
As I face life's wildest storms!

Touching myself, picturing you!
Going home to where we belong,
If only in my deepest of fantasies.
How often, your fine face I drew!
On a canvas created in the song,
Carried by the drums across seas.
When might you remember me?
I will just have to wait and see.
Angel mine of dark blue climes,
Forget me not, nor these rhymes!
My heart is pierced by hot tines.
