Workhorse Story
It's about time I admit this
I love work
Honestly I really love work
However it's all in what I am doing
I wish it was all just about the money
Then I would be happy just sitting around yet getting paid
This isn't a I'm the good guy story
Rather it's a discussion of my curse
I take pride in my work
To just do anything to get by
isn't good enough for me
I need to feel like I've earned my keep
So when I really get into work mode
Man that's my life expressed
It gets tough though,
because not everywhere
you work has people like yourself
Some places are just complacent
Everyone does the bare minimum
Even the person in charge
You never really fit in
because you want to do more.
You never really fit in
because you know that
there is more out there
You die slowly because
you need the money
Your body keeps on living
But on the inside you're dead.
Staying too long leaves you
Like a workhorse with no legs
There's no point in going anywhere
I love work
Honestly I really love work
However it's all in what I am doing
I wish it was all just about the money
Then I would be happy just sitting around yet getting paid
This isn't a I'm the good guy story
Rather it's a discussion of my curse
