Cara Mia!
I'd say you take my breath away
With all the beauty that you bring
To decorate my night and day,
But love is not a breathless thing.
It is an aether all its own
Affecting young and old alike
In every place where it has flown
To fall down with its thunderstrike
On every unsuspecting heart...
To prove no other kind of force
Could be a match for Cupid's dart
Or its hence forthwith intercourse!
And there's no power that compares
To Aphrodite's coaxing dew,
Set softly in those midnight airs...
Entrancing me...and hexing you...
And guiding Cupid's iron bolt
More staunchly than the compass rose,
Of overactive kilovolt,
The errant dildo might expose!
But we still love, with elder flesh,
Not quite as old as Gilgamesh,
And need no gizmos to refresh...
