Old Soul

Recently stumbled across a song,
always late to the trend.
And the meme snippet with it.

Adoring 'Misery' by Maroon 5
with the ironic upbeat tempo.

I abhor
'CPR'
with its irritating
sucking sound
and offensive overt language.

And no,
art doesn't always have to provoke;
too much hate in the world already
to justify crap
and other rubbish
of art for an arsehole's sake of a pay-check.

Recently started watching
'The adventures of Sherlock Holmes'
with Jeremy Brett
as the titular titan,
-A sharp skeletal caricature
prone to as much intelligence as kindness and pity.

A slower pace of past things
where care and attention, not action
was the driving force.

So my soul is old
with enough age
to not care about fitting in
and still enough bark
to scare death and despair away.
