Some people will procure a narrative for who they think you are. . You listen with abject curiosity.. They may have the fortitude to get some things correct but are seriously lacking in knowledge of you.. this is not your story. This is their perception of it, of you. Let them have it. Changing their minds is too much work. That is a fruitless job. Bittersweet. I may smile, I may even laugh at their unknowing. That's all the time I will allow someone who thinks they know anything about me ..

I enjoyed your read and makes a lot of sense. People definitely project all the time. Some of your punctuation threw me off but perhaps you meant it that way for your own personal reasons.
