This isn't my home
Though I've lived here for years
This isn't my home
Though the memories are warm
This isn't my home
Though we have peace
This isn't my home
We just stay here
Yet deep down
Anytime we could be thrown out
A roof over your head
Is a blessing
I hope you know that
Because that's the one thing
I've never had
Protection from the rain
Is only rented from month to month
Yet deep down you know
You hold no power
Deep down you know
That you're walking on eggshells
This isn't my home
I know that
I'm grateful for this place
But deep down I know
That I have to go
For this isn't my home
Just a place to rest my head
