Fireflies
Fluttering around in
My crystalline domain
Fire breathing visions
Alongside my brain
Each flurry of pieces
Arriving and demising
All limitless ideas
All in seconds lasting
A Godlike fuse
To find in the dark
Flying to amuse
Until finally it lands
Flickers on my hand
The Joan of Arc spark
Igniting the page
Burning the stake
Fire beating
Like a heart
Pages of skies
They arise
Fireflies
My crystalline domain
Fire breathing visions
Alongside my brain
Each flurry of pieces
Arriving and demising
All limitless ideas
All in seconds lasting
A Godlike fuse
To find in the dark
Flying to amuse
Until finally it lands
Flickers on my hand
The Joan of Arc spark
Igniting the page
Burning the stake
Fire beating
Like a heart
Pages of skies
They arise
Fireflies

I love fireflies. Reminds me of ideas.
How I have to grab on to them before they disappear:)

Re: Re. Fireflies
Hey Cipher,
Awh - thanks amigo. Just something that flew
around in my mind in flashes - and thought about fireflies and
oddly enough - Joan of Arc. She had such conviction of vision.
Believed it to her core - which I admire in anyone.
Hell she even went to war for it. Such bravery and also
made me think of writing.
So here is to Joan of Arc!!! :)))))

Well howdy Mystic:))))
So nice to see you land on my page like a firefly:)))
They are pretty awesome. I use to try and catch when I was
a kid and put in a jar.
Sadly - I don't see much of them anymore.
And your are most welcome:))

"the Joan of Arc spark" -brilliant!
So few creatures of such small size can create such illumination, and bring humans jubilation, as fireflies.
Kinda like a human in the universe. We may seem insignificant next to galaxies. But we can write poetry and songs. They just hang out and collide into each other. Dumb rocks.

Hey Styx,
I agree.
And such a great comparison with humans and the universe.
Never thought about it like that. For me I was thinking about
ideas. Always great to read comments that bring something
different to the table so thanks for that.

Hi Faith:)
Thank you so much for checking this out.
The fact that you enjoyed this and left me a
gracious comment has made my evening.
To me they are also like lightbulbs in my mind when
it comes to ideas. They turn off and on:)

Hi, Adelphina! I found your poem fascinating because it was brought back childhood memories of catching fireflies and I have never seen a poem about them. It's unique and very enjoyable!

I love when we read something and
it brings back nostalgic memories. For me that
is what writing should do. Make you feel something:)
Thanks again Faith!!

Hi Kristina:)
What a lovely thing to say - thank you sooo much.
Writing this I was wanting it to come across with imagery. Sometimes I want to attach pictures but I always back out. I like the challenge of painting the picture for you when you are reading. I want to be that firefly in your mind lighting things up. LOL
So glad you enjoyed this.
You got that beautiful smile too Kristina:)
Thanks for stopping by and the RL!!!
Later chica:)

A very beautifully written, vibrant poem... the part about Joan of Arc in particular appealed to me. My wife Chloe spotted this poem and said I would like it... she appears to have been very right indeed! Because I love it. Definitely one to add to my reading list. *Smiles* :)
