SHOOT!
didn’t hear
my alarm go off
It’s sound is hard to miss
like a Vespa commercial
from the nineteen fifties
drop-dead gorgeous,
ruby-lips topped
by black, cateye
Ray-Bans
accentuate porcelain skin
mediterranean goddess
raven hair poney-tail
floats on a breeze
peeking out
from polka-dotted scarf
a fashionista
helmet replacement
red, white striped,
form-fitting v-neck
paired with jet black capris
bent at the knees
astride a baby blue
brand new
motor scooter
progressing down
Roman, neighborhood street
men’s chorus sings
fortissimo CIAO BELLA!
accompanied by cheerful melody
punctuated by
equally effervescent
whistles

My alarm tone is called icecream and it obviously evokes some wonderful images just prior to embarking on the doldrums of the day, well early morning...work begins at 3 o'clock in the blessed morning.
