I wish I were a ghost
Just crack my ribs open please
The wounded creature that is my soul
It longs to be free from this cage of a body
I joke about being trapped in a flesh prison
But I truly close my eyes and can almost taste it
True freedom to just float away into eternity
The dreams happen all the time lately
This painful body doesn't make me want to care
It's easier to say I want to be a ghost
Than to admit I just want to die
My loved ones just smile and tease me
Joking how good I'd look if I were see through
The wounded creature that is my soul
It longs to be free from this cage of a body
I joke about being trapped in a flesh prison
But I truly close my eyes and can almost taste it
True freedom to just float away into eternity
The dreams happen all the time lately
This painful body doesn't make me want to care
It's easier to say I want to be a ghost
Than to admit I just want to die
My loved ones just smile and tease me
Joking how good I'd look if I were see through
