I’m not the girl you like in your feed half naked
Or the one posing with her friends in the sun
I’m not even the girl you text when you’re wasted
Or the one you picture in the shower while you stroke your luck
I’m not the girl at the thrift dressed in cool clothes
I’m not the one you’d dream of making your one and only
Im not the girl you could kiss at your shows
Sometimes im the girl you text when you’re lonely

I think there’s something to be said for those of us who are steady. Your poem is a lovely recognition of truly caring. I feel like when that is appreciated it’s rewarded with gifts we never expected. I really valued this poem having been in several unrequited situations there is a pain so big it feels like it will never end. Insightful piece. H🌷
