the heav’ns declare
The heavens declare the glory of God;
and the firmament showeth his handiwork.
Psalm 19:1 KJB
heaven and earth,
darkness and light,
the firmament set right;
dry land and seas,
plant life in bloom,
the sun and stars and moon;
creatures that filled
the sky with wings,
aqua-domicile things,
land animals
of every wind;
and perfect humankind,
fashioned to rule
o’er all things made,
that no ill might invade.
on that sixth day
His Great Work ceased,
God said, “I Am well pleased.”
the Seventh Day,
He eased His toil
and rested Him awhile.
He hallowed it
above the rest,
His Wisdom to attest.
the heav’ns declare
His Glorious Feats,
the firmament repeats
the things His Breath
have brought about,
and all the oceans shout.
if rivers sing,
winged creatures dance,
and hill and vale advance,
why should not man
His Name esteem
Who stands above, Supreme?
