Things I Love

the things i love best are all natural things
sun rise and set, a bird when it sings
bees as they buzz on flowers when in bloom
clouds in the distance with rain as they loom

over the mountains or over the sea
I love what's living all around me
I love too what lives underground
where mushrooms communicate without sound -

molecules of air and water too
the rhythms of life in me and in you
waking and sleeping, coming to go
I love knowing there's much I don't know

I love sharing telepathically
feelings and thoughts between you and me
a nod and a glance are all that it takes
communicating in silence for both of our sakes -

I love space and the stars held within
as electric currents make them all spin
as electric currents twisting embrace
creating new stars all over the place -

the things I love best are all natural things
cats, dogs and birds flying on wings
I love the sensation of being alone
in the natural world where I feel at home ...
