Roadz to Ruin

With prices unforgiving
we may curse the cost of living
though bargains still abound
if you strive to shop around

Put less petrol in the car
drink less beer at the bar
the savings may mount up
when you forgo that extra cup

It's the politicians' bread
to tax us 'till we're dead
so if bills become too hard
double max your credit card

Then wouldn't it be funny
if they did away with money
and when the bailiffs reach your door
even they will be as poor....

Though I have just one admission
I'd still write poems on commission
Isn't that
what priceless words
are for?
