Notte Stellata
Swiftly he jumps and lands like a feather,
gliding smoothly and effortless across the sheer ice.
Gracefully leant forward like a blade of grass
bent to the will of the *amihan wind—
with his arms outstretched to the heavens
which perhaps he had once fallen from.
A tender cheek pressed flush onto thigh—
rosy and plush like the velvety material of a small yellow friend,
he rises again with will to challenge a king.
The swan spreads its wings and takes flight.

*amihan - " In the Philippines, Amihan refers to the season dominated by the trade winds, which are experienced in the Philippines as a cool northeast wind. It is characterized by moderate temperatures, little or no rainfall in the central and western part of Luzon and Visayas, and a prevailing wind from the east. "
After the Beijing Olympics, I decided to write a little something about one of my favorite figure skaters. Challenging the 4A is no easy feat— and of that I am so glad to have witnessed the first certified! Fly Yuzu!!

Yes! That was exactly what I was going for. The way Hanyu choreographed the programs (and the way he choreographs his newer non-competitive programs) have this dreamy and feather-like grace.
