COOL DARK NIGHT (II; revision) (1977; Galveston Island, Texas)
the sun
in constant rising
still remembers
its simultaneous
equally continuous
cosmic falling
hand in hand
out of planet beds
taking with it
the fading sheets
of twilights
soft retreat
leaving
in its silent wake
vast
black
shoreless lake
of countless stars
exposed
in cool
dark velvet night
above
wherein their bright
diamond lights
sweet distant touch
they
transcendently
beckon
us all
to fully awaken
ascend
and return
back more closely
to the greater
more enlightened truth
of who
of what we
so much more
profoundly
truly are
in our inseparable
relation to
the boundless
oneness
of it
all
