Cocoon
From a deep cocoon, protrudes
the wet beginning of a butterfly
But a nub at first,
as curious as I
I coax it to come
I whisper close
my lips brush the fine hairs
moistening it, as it
offers moisture back
-Kisses me back
all natural, how
It's wings swell, between my lips
It wants to soar
yet pinned by my tongue
Fluttering, it glistens
over its own softness
Seeking to explore
our pruned gardens
I fall back, grasping tight
Butterfly comes forth
pouring over my shoulders
as I shiver into
this new skin
My hands, like a mantis,
As I'm devouring, savoring
initially morsels,
into a mouthful
Hunger sated by nectar
I give some back;
Taste this
Butterfly sensating, wriggling
legs trapping my face
This creature of life
lets me live, as I
suck, and then for breath
I stab it back
into its cocoon
I follow too
inches at a time
more than enough
It flails for mercy
then for no mercy
I feel it as it flies
over me, taking me
to its deepest high
Clenching at my girth,
as it floods over me
As I'm sinking but floating
and falling and flying
as it thrashes around me
Like some kind of meat eating
butterfly.
