the echo of unspoken sound
The sound of a soccor ball
kicked against a brick wall
speaks louder than I do
in the lamp lit darkness
I am the silence of daylight
I am the unspoken rage
I am the cracking sobs behind
closed curtains and locked windows
because I can't bear the outside world
seeing the cracks in my facade
I live like I'm strong
I smile like I'm incapable of breaking
I dream in technicolor nightmares
and wonder why I can't sleep
I'm the caffeine high
that's one more cup
away from a panic attack
I'm the memory of cigarettes
nostalgic and hostile in my lungs
sinuses full off ash
and tomorrow's depression
The sound of a soccor ball
kicked against a brick wall
speaks louder than I do
I wanna be slammed against a wall
sweaty and alive with adrenalin
I want to feel the fight
blaze through my veins
and find a release
that doesn't end with my fist
through a plastered wall
I want to shine so brightly
the darkness is burnt out of me
and freedom comes like a new dawn
with the promise of a hope
so tangible I can taste
the bittersweet beauty of it
The sound of a soccor ball
kicked against a brick wall
speaks louder than I do
