Wounded Weather
When you climbed that
Windy cold mountain
Shoved me down forgotten
Hoping I’d shatter
Seeping dried rain barely
There for your fountain
From the unnoticed crack
That didn’t matter
Your dried brittle
Left over stems
With black thorns
Claws of venom horns
Trying to pierce
With skill my skin
Puncture my
Ultrastructure
Got a heart filled
With sun and thunder
Surrounded by a glass
Gem vase suitcase
Ready to change course
Breeze towards wonder
Lessons of my shining
Storm cloud of color
Playing with ease
Rainbow piano keys
Harmonizing for the
Silver lining
Thread of bright vining
Lifting loves heavy rubble
Off my pressured chest
In time the forecast shall pass
Changing seasons like
Wounded Weather
Windy cold mountain
Shoved me down forgotten
Hoping I’d shatter
Seeping dried rain barely
There for your fountain
From the unnoticed crack
That didn’t matter
Your dried brittle
Left over stems
With black thorns

Author's Note
listening to
Dead Sara - song Face to Face
My skin literally levitated listening to this. It was so raw and honest.
Had to write about the ending of relationships and figuring out who you are.
Totally blew my mind away!!

Dear A,
The end of relationships…the feeling of being unmoored, bereft and lost. Yet, on the flip side the opportunity to shed a downer or someone who’s holding us back could change the direction of life for great things to come. I never know how to play that one. But I do know it’s devastating to be on the receiving end of a good bye when you’re the one still in love and the other person isn’t and your wonderful poem filled with descriptions of these tender emotions plays to that awesomely. H🌷

Hi H!!
Thank you so much for your perspective. Just felt the vibe in the song and went from there. The pain of it and finding love elsewhere.
All is not lost. We shouldn't forget that. I'm sure in the moment it doesn't feel like it. But gotta find that silver lining in everything. Even the heavy stuff outside of relationships. In life in general.
Thanks for checking this out:)
Hope you are having a great weekend:)

Hi!!
Yes, She tears her voice up in this. Almost to the point of I can hear it bleeding in a way. I get inspired by music so much. It just triggers
my mind in fun, sad, groovy ways. hahahah.
Depending on the topic and tone of the song.
Thanks for checking it out and giving me your thoughts.
Glad you liked the song. It is kinda addicting right.
I got goosebumps the first time I heard it. Like holy crap!!!
Did that just happen. LOL
Later gator!

Internal and external rhyme, along with the alliteration... Really pushed the flow
in a clean and cool way.
[Rainbow piano keys]
Awesome.

Hey Cipher:)
Glad you enjoyed the rainbow piano keys. hahah
If I could design one I would so go there:)
Then another one.
The black keys would be yellow like the sun.
The white keys would be all types of flowers.
Just thought that up while typing so thank you. LOL
Thanks for stopping by and the RL

This brings to mind for me the literary idea of pathetic fallacy — how our emotions can often be echoed in the weather, and nature. The wounded weather seems like the perfect melding of words to describe the inner world and the natural world becoming one.
Thank you for sharing, it was a joy to read.

Hi Missy:)
Yes, I believe we are like the weather. We change seasons and go
through changes in life. It comes whether or not we are ready. Sometimes there are signs and other times not so much.
This song triggered the lightening in my mind and off I went
to write. So happy you enjoyed this.

I'm late to this premiere of your poem!
You have a great knack for picking up the vibes to songs and enhancing it with your own take. That's a keen skill to possess.
There are singers who admit that sometimes their songs are "replies" to other songs that they've heard. Art mimicking art perhaps?
You do it justice, too.
Great write, Adelphina.

Hey Styx!!
I've been off site for a while - so sorry for my late response.
I guess we are in the same boat. LOL
Yes, I can mimic the crap our of shtuff. hehehe
I like to put my own spin on things. Music helps me amplify
what is going through my mind while listening. Her voice
just bleeds in this song. Just felt moved so I sat down and
started writing.
Thanks for your snaps amigo!!
And the handy dandy RL:)
