I stand in awe

Far off
Rumbling at night
Distant clouds
Flashes of light
Embelish their silhouettes

Approaching
Fat swollen raindrops
Begin their descent
Scarce at first
Bur increase with intensity

Loud booms of thunder
Bellow their boisterous bluster
Radiant streaks
Sizzle and crack
All around

I stand in awe at the power
That glistens and is gone
All too soon
