As a kid I loved the rag n' bone man as he shouted out "ran and B O N E" coming down our street, horse and cart too. I guess he had to reinvent himself, like all the coal-miners had to in the 1980s. (I remember as a 17 year-old down the coal mines, and member of the NUM, the Feb'74 strike that brought the Heath government down. Then Thatcher got her revenge a decade later).
