subtle notes of hurt rose from within
I could hear the melody play
but I couldn't feel the pain
tears stream down my face
I couldn't connect

a melancholy vision overtook my soul
I wander through the streets unknown
keening for a love loss I don't recall

still, I feel like a part of me is missing
with an ache so great
I tremble within

I look to the beauty of the world
and I feel locked out
its beauty is for some, not for me

loneliness is my companion
