A genuine moment

Know that I am happy for you,

I only wish the best for you too.

I haven't felt physical love and care for months now.

When you hugged me,
I felt genuine love for me and I don't know how.

How can this be?

I thought no one really cared about me.

I used to feel like true love has faded from the world.

That people want love, but don't want to fight,
for it.

They don't want a war.

They just want the victory.

I thought they only liked certain parts of me.

But when you hugged me,
I closed my eyes.

It was as unique and beautiful as a sunrise.

I felt safe, warm and loved for the first time in awhile.

I could’ve swore even my heart smiled.

In my back from the past was a knife.

In that moment I felt it release, and I’ll cherish it my whole life.
