Felis
You were there across the room
Standing plainly without a sound
Looking for something too
That never would be found
And suddenly you shifted
So clearly, without remorse
Into a lovely feline
Dappled coat, fur coarse
Your eyes, they glimmered before the screen
My heart began to seize
And when you turned toward me
I saw something I'd never believe
Your pointed face turned gently
Deep within those crystalline orbs
Inside your amber scleras
Tumbled minerals galore
A soft and shimmering citrine
Perhaps a tiger's eye?
A heated amethyst, amber and gold
A burnt sienna sky
It wasn't just the color
I could see the stones in your eyes
And the rocks behind your pupils
Would spell out my demise
Standing plainly without a sound
Looking for something too
That never would be found
And suddenly you shifted
So clearly, without remorse
Into a lovely feline
Dappled coat, fur coarse
Your eyes, they glimmered before the screen
My heart began to seize
And when you turned toward me
I saw something I'd never believe
Your pointed face turned gently
Deep within those crystalline orbs
Inside your amber scleras
Tumbled minerals galore
A soft and shimmering citrine
Perhaps a tiger's eye?
A heated amethyst, amber and gold
A burnt sienna sky
It wasn't just the color
I could see the stones in your eyes
And the rocks behind your pupils
Would spell out my demise
