Saving Grace
Do bones feel pain,
as they grind themselves to powder
from deep within our graves?
Do our souls burn in hellfire,
paying for the sins
that have been paid for once before?
Worms are eating our desires,
feeding on the souls we cast aside
Seeking love of our mirror image,
we live just for us
and worship the smallness of humanity
Yet, we can be the change we wish to see
So look with open eyes,
surely today is not in our dreams?
Can we find a new beginning,
and a future based on love?
And in so doing
set the world free
from the chains of envy and greed
Or do we deserve these nightmare dreams?
Enthralled by our reflection in the mirror,
can we still find love
within our blistered hearts
and become humanity's saving grace
as they grind themselves to powder
from deep within our graves?
Do our souls burn in hellfire,
paying for the sins
that have been paid for once before?
Worms are eating our desires,
feeding on the souls we cast aside
Seeking love of our mirror image,
we live just for us
and worship the smallness of humanity
Yet, we can be the change we wish to see
So look with open eyes,
surely today is not in our dreams?
Can we find a new beginning,
and a future based on love?
And in so doing
set the world free
from the chains of envy and greed
Or do we deserve these nightmare dreams?
Enthralled by our reflection in the mirror,
can we still find love
within our blistered hearts
and become humanity's saving grace
