I've Seen Beasts With More Humanity
I wish I could've held you
when you stopped smiling
at the tender age of ten
wish I could tell you
there was no hell
just men who think
they control the game
I wish I could've saved you
from yourself when you bled
and stole meds from their shelf
You lost yourself
before you found yourself
wandering for too long
and longing for any help
You lost yourself
before you found yourself
it's no wonder
they're all gone
Why is it
they were never taught
you can't give up
on someone you never
tried to love?
And so they killed a child
and replaced it's parts,
left the pieces in the wild
And they wondered why
the creature they made
broke through it's cage
and left a trail of blood
behind
You are so much more
than you think...
A beast you believe,
but you are more to me
a human deserving
of love
when you stopped smiling
at the tender age of ten
wish I could tell you
there was no hell
just men who think
they control the game
I wish I could've saved you
from yourself when you bled
and stole meds from their shelf
You lost yourself
before you found yourself
wandering for too long
and longing for any help
You lost yourself
before you found yourself
it's no wonder
they're all gone
Why is it
they were never taught
you can't give up
on someone you never
tried to love?
And so they killed a child
and replaced it's parts,
left the pieces in the wild
And they wondered why
the creature they made
broke through it's cage
and left a trail of blood
behind
You are so much more
than you think...
A beast you believe,
but you are more to me
a human deserving
of love
