Old and Torn Down Place
Missing a torn down place
It was perfect for a time
I kept a lot of secrets there
Some I’m still trying to find
Somewhere buried in that earth
Remain some young familiar faces
With stories long gone by
And the laughter that they gave us
Now, I only visit when it’s dark
When shadows can be bent and shaped
Into things my mind misses most
From an old and torn down place
It was perfect for a time
I kept a lot of secrets there
Some I’m still trying to find
Somewhere buried in that earth
Remain some young familiar faces
With stories long gone by
And the laughter that they gave us
Now, I only visit when it’s dark
When shadows can be bent and shaped
Into things my mind misses most
From an old and torn down place
