Slow and Steady Wins the Race
I can't stand when you walk away
in the middle of a fight.
And I'm left in your bed
unsure of how to make things right.
it's wrong, all fucking wrong.
Everything I try.
How do I stand up for myself
and still be polite?
Sometimes the way you read me
is just the beginning and the end.
Like you're back in school,
preparing for the test.
Listen to my words,
you may not agree
But that doesn't mean I'm wrong.
That is you and this is me.
Every time we fall
I think 'we had a good run'.
But the finish line is still so far
and I know we aren't done.
Please don't try to race me
we help eachother side to side.
matching in stride
patience no pride
Love is a choice
Let's take our time.
