Image for the poem shrouded

shrouded

Within
dense
shadowy
hallows
your eyes
fix
and lock
onto mine
recognition flares
a known
understanding
thoughts freeze
as does present time

entranced,
I must follow
as I feel you
usurp
all my inner
sorrow

a perfect
embrace
damn
that
steely
sinful grace

fingers,
tenderstrong
in their
gentle trace
of a
sad lonely
face;
one that
you praise as
being
far from
commonplace,
so say the words
from legions lips,
replacing
devout
insecurity's
shamed disgrace

we still
speechlessness
settles
and
creates an
ease
between us

quiet
allows
loneliness
a chance
to fade - to degrade
as you
kiss away
such
vicious scars
of severe
self hate,
encasing
my soul
in your perfect
musked floral
spicy
onyx'd embrace

leaving us
shrouded
in roaring
silence
emotionally
sated

floating
drifting

into
deeply twined
devilish
devotion

where
shared hellish
pain
morphs
to
love—

fated
