The comment here for the 3rd one recycles some comments I made on the 1st.
This is more traditionally painterly in the sense that it emphasizes 2d-3d aspects--the flattening of perspective of a 3d object with the use of abstraction. Then the rothko-pollack visual components, with a grille adding another illusion.
I don't see much Rothko--the bars, I suppose.
I suppose I like this one more than the 1st 2 because it transcends the nature of the object--becomes more than its parts, whereas the 1st 2 look like hubcaps a child painted--I don't mean child in a derogatory sense, but in the sense of "naive" art, in the sense of art used as a fetish-object, serving the same purpose as created objects might in a primitive tribe--a fetish designed to encourage fertility, or group-identification, like a Weetzie Bat paperback YA novel in an 8th grader's backpack.
Enjoyed the 3 overall, as they led to interesting thoughts!

I like your take on this one
My wife says it's her favorite, she's a choreographer, jewelry designer and graphic artist so I take her criticism as the gospel as I do yours for intellectual engagement. I took some liberty with Rothko, the, Ines are too defined for him. But he's a major influence to me and a personal hero. Too bad suicide was his ultimate demise. I've done some Pollock like art. It's actually much harder to do than it looks. That's the beauty of it, it's seamless in scope and coverage. Another proud but twisted like figure from the past.
Thanks for your thoughts on my painting
