Golden eye of sun ribbons swirl
On ladies spun out of cirrus
Whose shawls eclipse
The plaza where memories dip their quills
To write their fairy tales on western hearts
Of unicorn lullabies from fireside rivers
That deepen like the green of springtime forests
When the earth was young
And green as a maiden in love
Whose bonnet moans of feathery legend

This has a supernatural, dream like quality to it. Very much unfolded smooth, like a beautiful dream.

As someone who has a very dear friend that's Seminole Native American, I've been lucky enough to have been invited to a few PowWow's, myself.... So I love the absolutely gorgeous, visceral descriptiveness you've captured by your an amazingly talented pen. It's a truly beautiful write, John! Not only is it gorgeously written, it also celebrates a culture and a people that I have such enormous respect and appreciation for....

Susan, love knowing you had a friend who took you to powwows. There is indeed a heritage there that I feel when at one. I recall the one in my hometown that happens every March. Attending it feels like the New Year for me when the next year actually begins more than the official one. I thank you from my heart dear friend for really delving deep into this poem and appreciating its nuances so well. You are a true friend whose kindness means the world to me
