At war
Its a battle within me ...
Voices screaming out loud....
Surrounded by people
but all alone in a crowd.
Its a big tug of war
between my head and my heart ...
Can't get it together
without falling apart. .
The hearts the true champion
for so very long...
Love is a weakness...
love makes you strong.
Its a battle inside..
of the heart and the head..
Dreams that are withered..
Ambition that's dead.
Hope fills the shadows..
All dusty with doubt.
So much love on the inside..
Just dying to get out.

I thought it was very good - dealing with isolation (possible self-imposed) and the desire to have some one to love or be in a tight group of friends.
I felt this as I have these feelings at times as well. I know easier said then done, you just need to get out there and socialize. I'm sure a bit more difficult for a lady, having to deal with unwanted advances. But as you mention in your poem, if you aren't happy about yourself it makes it difficult to seek and find love.
Remember, you have a large group of friends here on DUP.

Wow thank you so much. This was written awhile back. I just had it stuck in a folder that I had in a trunk. I appreciate your feedback very much..
