Trading your soul
No claims for deed the devil’s own
No appeals of mercy be ever heard
For signed you have and signed you’ll be
A soul for a deed signed within a deed
Till Devil come and claimed what he
Had deed to you a time before
When needed you his intervening law
What was it you deed your soul
To exchange for what wasn’t yours
To keep, to cherish or to ever own
Was it a dying infant dear
To you and yours that emboldened you
Or was it a fair maiden, a beloved lover
That you traded your soul for?
Now crashing sounds of dark angels wings
Come to reap what had been sowed
In willing furrows of demented minds
Now ready for the eternal fire
What had been scythed
Now bundled in sheaves
Never more unbundled be
Worth the weigh
That tipped the scales
Your soul you sold
For one you loved
Now loved no more
For they had betrayed
Your sacrifice had come to nought
No appeals of mercy be ever heard
For signed you have and signed you’ll be
A soul for a deed signed within a deed
Till Devil come and claimed what he
Had deed to you a time before
When needed you his intervening law
What was it you deed your soul
To exchange for what wasn’t yours
To keep, to cherish or to ever own
Was it a dying infant dear
To you and yours that emboldened you
Or was it a fair maiden, a beloved lover
That you traded your soul for?
Now crashing sounds of dark angels wings
Come to reap what had been sowed
In willing furrows of demented minds
Now ready for the eternal fire
What had been scythed
Now bundled in sheaves
Never more unbundled be
Worth the weigh
That tipped the scales
Your soul you sold
For one you loved
Now loved no more
For they had betrayed
Your sacrifice had come to nought
