Capo Delgado
It seems too unbelievable at first
As if playing out a scene in a movie
Somewhere in a country far away
Remote from any homeland
Unfortunately
The truth is far worse than fantasy
As misfortune might have it
The danger lurks too close
To be ignored
And pretend
As if
It’s existence is of insignificance
As with countless occurrences
In our God forsaken continent
Specifically in the southern region
Time seems to be of no consequence
With no need to want to intervene
In places where timidity is a luxury
Save This Place
Before It Blows up in our faces
Either through war
Worse still
Die from neglect
Perishing sooner then the aid on its way there

Oh, this musing makes me weep my poet I've been to the province of Capo Delgado and its surrounding regions. It was a day trip from Soweto in an old gray bus with several volunteer reliefs workers, most nurses and several residents who were in several practices.. we gave vaccinations, three residents surgically repaired children who were in desperate need of cleft lip and palate surgery to advance them within their practice of leaning their craft. It is a such an oppressed province in compassion to Western Civilization, but the spirit of those villagers have a heart of gold. I get misty eyed when thinking I left my MP3 player as a bribery for a child who refused to be vaccinated and three of my Britannia Encyclopedia Editions to a mother to read to her two sons and one daughter, and she was expecting to properly read.. meaning that is how I leaned proper English.. my grann’s way..
Seeing those beautiful words for such a place time had forgotten and UNICEF handouts are so slow to be delivered, thank you for this sweet remembrance, I feel this musing… One thing I could say hair plays a significant in some tribes mainly in Namibia it is a status of indifference believe it or not that was our last stop, we were under surveillance in our cramped compounds.
I placed on a headscarf out of respect… most citizens do not trust relief workers, and then the language barrier was a huge factor.. Most of our residents spoke limited Spanish, I spoke French and Haitian Creole.. they spoke, Afrikaans, various spoke Portuguese and Swahili, but for some strange spiritual reason still to this day we bonded to understand along with plenty of nodding and head shaking…what a blessed time in my life to have experienced to always respect the moments of time, man, woman, and child, and Mother Nature and the resources we draw from several of those third world countries…I believe everyone of Moorish ethnicity should visit Africa mainly West Africa.. enjoy your day and your evening.

You deserve that credit all alone my poet and thank you for bringing such beautiful and cherished memories back to me.. and raising the awareness of the Capo Delgado. I cannot believe someone has actually written about a place I have once stepped on the richness of their soil.. God that was a liberating time for me.. enjoy your evening and weekend and thank you once again 🤎

Sad but true...
Bruce Willis once said "God has already left Africa" in tears of the Sun....
I know not if Africa is cursed or what
But what I realised is this place is watered by blood and tears
And therefore more blood and more tears will be the fruits of this continent.....
