Lamb's Blood

It was after the ninth plague
(when everybody was left in the dark)
That Pharaoh’s heart hardened (even more than before)
He wouldn’t let the people go
But it was the tenth plague that broke every family
Down there in the land of Egypt

Moses then done told Joshua
(his right-hand man and eventual successor)
To coordinate a put lamb’s blood
on the door frames of Israelite households
So that when the angel of death walked amongst them
(or a dark cloud of smoke if you like the film)
He would see the lamb’s blood on the door frames
and pass by

Well, of course, the Egyptians didn’t listen
Or just simply didn’t believe it
They went about their usual ways
And sure enough every first born died
Including Pharaoh’s son

Whether you consider it as history
Legend or myth
Analogy or metaphor
The lesson here was to protect yourself
AND STAY THE FUCK HOME

Only then did Pharaoh let the people go

So protect yourself
Whether it’s staying home
Wearing a mask
Or getting vaxxed
It’s the sensible thing to do

Oh, BTW
A couple of days later
Pharaoh done get pissed off and wanted vengeance
He chased after the chosen people
Only to lose his entire army in the red sea
