Can't let myself become enraptured by likes
Although, I've learned they give dopamine spikes
But when we write, tell me, what's most important
Gaining popularity or conveying messages that're potent
What's in your final quotient after computing the math?
Are you surfing the waves or parting seas with your staff?
Are you building your calves by tiptoeing around issues?
Do you turn a blind eye or try seeing yourself in their shoes?

I've been meaning to write something similar on this subject and how many folks validate themselves based on the number of likes/subscribers. It's a thought provoking and insightful piece, really bringing the societal issues at hand with the current technology.

It's easy to get caught up in the web of likes. We've been conditioned by social media to pursue followers and likes.
