the eternal void opened its great mouth and spoke treason
I trembled inside myself to behold such darkness
spiked thoughts of derision assaulted my senses
I was in the darkened corridor a victim of naught
the grey rolled on forever seemingly without end
it's gaping eye blinked and beheld me
 
I was curious considering its reason for existing
I questioned the vast its purpose
it spoke nonsense
 
you are of no value in the infinite loop of reason
little knowledge cracker, intrigue is its own reward
speak into my thoughts and become lucid
my mind couldn't wrap around its double talk
 
it asked of my nature I answered knowledge
who are you child of scorn to wonder at all?
 
soon I found I was being drawn into the deep end of nothingness
I sought to retreat but found errant souls bumping into me
the void seemed to gain in momentum as beings were swallowed
into the darkness they went one by one without protest
 
I feared my eternal spirit would be lost
just one more casualty of greed
finally it spoke saying faith is you savior today
better not to seek knowledge in all things
 
chaos is it's own keeper  
we are the denizens of rage
we seek to devour the foolish
