linger
listless serenade...cherished abandon
come hither from the shade of the garden
do you see my reverie burning bright for you
I stand on my tip toes to match your tempo
your intellect so high I shy
to meet your need...sigh
vigor meets the melancholy dawn
morning dew sees me gazing at you when you're not looking
on my periphery I feel your tentative looks
pensive then penetrating
a newling at real love I quake
I gather my dreams and let them bloom before your eyes
I wonder how you would feel in my arms
there are other flowers in the garden brighter than I
I love hard I know this about myself
even in my innocence I'm wise
I hesitate when you ask me to dance
just a moment too late I say yes
as another lass enters your arms
I wilt inside and under my breath say damn
my alter ego rises inside me
later that night I seduce you
becoming one you pierce my innocent truth
Lilith smiles sideways at me
knowing you can't love me now
I fade in your memory as a lady for naught
sparkle, gave, shimmer now you're gone
