Image for the poem Seventh

Seventh

there may be distant rainbows
hopes in twinkles of stars
in the midnight skies
if I can only see them
I just see shadows
of old yellow ribbons
on leafless trees

bring in the clowns today
those that scream
and walk upside down
for their mirthless smiles
those that squirt tears
from their suffering eyes
remembering with sad hurrahs

Seven months gone
dear one
peace be yours
in rainbowed skies.
