LYING FRIENDS
HABIT
I am so used to
myself that I don't
really see or notice
that I have wrinkles
and lines on my face
because I see myself
several times a day
in the mirror.
BUT
then I see an old friend
I haven't seen in years
and quickly notice the surprise.
look on his face as he
tries to hide his agast
at how I have aged.
HOWEVER,
my best friend, says
with tongue-in-cheek:
"You haven't changed
a bit, still same old you."
Oh, how I adore my
lying friends. As I
return the lie to him.
