Greatness Powers On
at my age
I see adults acting more immature
than most kids
talking as if they haven't lived
and hurling insults
as if they know no better
I'm not the radical youth I used to be
I have learned from these years
yet I kept my drive
that rage I hold inside from every lie
isn't the whirlwind it once was
but don't mistake that for weakness
on the contrary
my moves are more focused
contemplated, precise
sharp as a knife
letting shit pass
till the moment is right
then I strike
piss me off
I can be as cold as a winter's night
thriving off that fear
when haters start to realize
just how above it all I really am
like a God looking down on ants
might sound conceited
but really that is how I see it
when they rush me
with their deceitful ways
knocking me around when I'm down
I just take every hit like a champ
smiling as if something's about to happen
because I know
i'll soon be getting up
and when I do
they'll just have to watch
as greatness powers on

It's like you and I are on a same page, kinda! In experiences that elicit like feelings, it seems, DC. Damn, how I absolutely felt this piece to my very inner secret self. I think I was nodding in agreement as I was reading... Your points made are so very resounding and familiar. Your write resonates completely with me, 100% and bluntly but beautifully coveys what I wish I could in such distinct words....
