Nineteen 92

Three decades have almost passed by
And the distant memories still remain
All the shenanigans my friends and I
Got away with now seem a bit harebrained

Most of us band kids were kind of loud
Even though we represented the school
But some of us were a rowdy crowd
And a couple of us could act like a fools

We were smart but sometimes boneheads
And yet that time when “Gonzo”, “Hairy” and I
Started a car chase and raced some dudes
That somehow turned into a near drive-by

Not sure what the statute of limitations is
But hey, whatever, it’s been nearly thirty years
I mean, the guys and I can laugh about it now
We’re all grown up, have families and careers

High school was fun with lasting friendships
Band was a second family for many of us too
I feel like they were my glory days
I’m proud to be part of the Class of ’92

Ah, to be young and dumb and full of ideas
The world was ours as we read the signs
As I listen to the songs of my youth, smiling
Sitting here remembering the times
