Equanimity
Trying to sustain equanimity while the enemy tries to kill my high
So tired that I no longer rely on bent knees while looking to the sky
Just want to fly but storms are hovering & weighing down my wings
Yet, I'm still viewing and loving the vivid colors Spring brings
Keeping a spring in my step but trips are getting harder to rebound from
They say that better days are to come but I can't calculate that sum
Some Rum or one fifty one could help numb the pain of the pouring rain
But that'd be dumb cause heredity's tongue may take me down a more jarring lane
So tired that I no longer rely on bent knees while looking to the sky
Just want to fly but storms are hovering & weighing down my wings
Yet, I'm still viewing and loving the vivid colors Spring brings
Keeping a spring in my step but trips are getting harder to rebound from
They say that better days are to come but I can't calculate that sum
Some Rum or one fifty one could help numb the pain of the pouring rain
But that'd be dumb cause heredity's tongue may take me down a more jarring lane
