Music Passion Seven

Grandmother was always kind to me
with many...well, most others
she could be quite ornery
but what a joy to hear and see,
when she had the druthers,
to tickle those ivories

While in Yuletide Season
‘roun the piano we’d gather
grandma would play
In a rhythm so pleasing
all our favorite holiday songs
her style was ragtime
like an old west saloon
the only things missing
the bar and spittoon

Author's Note
My grandmother was an exceptional pianist and organist. Her musical exploits may appear again in my NaPo. She was exceptionally proud of my musical abilities and claimed full credit for them...she probably was right in that many of my musical talents do seem out-of-body or otherwise innate.
