By Hatchet, Axe and Saw
Another lesson learned burned into my mind
As it turned into a philosophical perspective
Is equality really equal if it’s enforced by law?
Are we not the same made by nature’s objective?
Should we be careful with what we ask for?
Will the consequences have a different effect?
But the professor had been a fan of Rand
He was a well-read man and was full of intellect
For a while I pondered, wondered and sundered
Should we be happy with our place in the universe?
Do we strive for more light, for more power
For some it may be blessing and for others a curse
Are all things really made equal
When they’re cut down by hatchet, axe and saw
And what happens to the people
When they pass an unjust law
