Not Your Fault
I'm going away where no one can find me.
Sharing my grief without you.
It's not that I can go to you, this just ain't no way to live.
I can't drain you everytime you see me, so I'll get up and speak to myself.
It hurts to know I've been hurt, I know.
It was never your fault, okay?

After reading your poem I found I was relating very candidly to the notion of isolating and shutting down. It’s a difficult position to be in when feeling like you’re always pouring out your guts to someone. I know on many psychological levels I’ve felt that way at any rate. You’ve painted an accurate description of these feelings very well. As a reader it is a comfort to know another is experiencing this similarly. H🌷
